Want to rent a kayak?

I want to rent a kayak
And paddle up to Nyack
And ask them at the Seaport
To cook me up a flapjack.

But I think they're much too ritzy!

More on Nyack here.

Cook's Cafe

Originally, this place was known as Cook's Cafe. We first ate breakfast there during the Christmas season in 1988. It is still in business today, but was closed during the annual Cedar Key Seafood Festival, which made no sense to me.

Tony's Seafood Restaurant

I've heard it said this is a great place to eat, but we have not yet verified that comment. Looks pretty good, though.

Church point of sale

I'm not sure about other parts of the U.S., but in Florida many churches sell pumpkins at Halloween in order to raise some extra money. The Cedar Key United Methodist Church is one of them. From what we saw, business was good!

A plant carriage

You could use this plant carriage to haul your plants around or just show them off in your front yard. I thought it was a nice yard piece. The plants need a little help, though! :-)

Carol & Ron at the Seafood Festival

We introduced Carol Wiggins and her son, Ron, last year at about this time. They are artisans who create beautiful Florida related items, such as you see in the above photos. Carol and Ron travel the state visiting various arts and crafts fairs to sell their products. Each year you will find them at the Cedar Key Seafood Festival.

They are wonderful people and if you make it to the Cedar Key Seafood Festival next year, but sure to stop by their stall and say hello.

Renovated beauty

This beautifully renovated home is near downtown Cedar Key, facing the main road into town and backing up to the bay. It's got all the great real estate requirements: Location, location, and location.

Grand Opening

I'm sure this golf cart was in the Seafood Festival parade. It's advertising a grand opening of some kind - but I can't remember just what. I think it may have been a gift shop.

Notice, though, how the little girl sweetly posed when she saw my camera!

Wanna get married?

If you happen to be visiting Cedar Key with your love and develop a sudden hankering to get married, this is one place to do it! And it's right on the main road into town. Very convenient.
